John Wooden - The difference between winning and succeeding

John Wooden - The difference between winning and succeeding

I like these lessons that John brings up:

1. Never try to be better than someone else
2. Always learn from others
3. Never cease trying to be the best you can be - that's under your control - if you get to involved in things that are not under your control it will adversely affect the things over which you have control

It's amazing how we can focus mainly on external factors rather than internal, when it is our core capabilities, our internal drive and our constant focus on improving ourselves which is what moves us forward and eventually improves our lives.

When you try to be better than others, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.  There will always be someone better than you at one thing or another. Accept that, embrace that and focus on improving yourself daily.
